About

Suzanah Lazzaro is a Certified Yoga Instructor and Certified Thai Massage Practitioner.

She has been a student of Yoga for over 15 years and a teacher for over 10. She comes from a strong family lineage within the Healing Arts–both her Mother and Father being Massage Therapists and Yoga Teachers. Yoga was a family affair from a young age, with her Father bringing her along to her first Yoga class at the age of 14.

As a child, she was happily her Mother’s guinea pig while she was attending Massage Therapy school. This was a profoundly influential experience where Suzanah learned a great deal about massage through direct experience.
Suzanah began her Yoga studies in Toronto where she studied many styles of Yoga. Her teaching style has most deeply been influenced by her time spent learning at the renowned Esther Myers Yoga Centre as well as Downward Dog Yoga Centre in Toronto.

Growing into facilitating others on their yoga/healing journey was a natural progression for her that began when she was a University student offering Yoga to fellow classmates. She went on to study Yoga in Southern India, receiving her Teacher’s Certification and becoming well versed in Classical Hatha Yoga Methodology.

In 2001, Suzanah was in a serious car accident that left her with a severe whiplash injury. Her quality of life was greatly affected and the pain resulting from the injury was so severe that she developed a terrible bout of insomnia. Yoga therapy became her principle form of treatment, and within a year she completely healed her body with a Yoga therapy program she co-developed. She went on to teach this program to others to help them on their journey in self-healing.

Suzanah trained in Thai Massage at the “Thai Massage School For Health” in Chiang Mai, Thailand. She received one-on-one training with the “Thai Massage Grandmothers”, a group of women famous in Thailand for their depth of knowledge and expertise in Thai Massage Therapy.

She has a strong affinity for Thailand-its culture and people, speaks the language and has spent a year living there. The spirit in which she offers her massage has been greatly influenced by her cultural connection with Thailand and her meditation practice. The tradition of Thai massage is steeped in what is known in the ancient Pali language as “Metta” or “loving kindness”, each massage existing as a moving prayer.

Suzanah is also trained in deep tissue and mio-fascial release therapies as well as Ayurvedic Massage.
